2 TikTok addicted girls rescued from Pallabi
After five days of disappearance from Noakhali Sadar Upazila, 2 young girls have been rescued from the trap of a TicToc gang in Dhaka's Pallabir by District Detective Police (DB). Noakhali Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter on Saturday (May 6) at noon. He said that they went missing on April 30. They were rescued around 2.30 am on Friday (May 5).
The Superintendent of Police said that the parents of the two missing girls filed two missing diaries at Sudharam Model Police Station on May 1. After that, a team of district intelligence police started investigating to rescue them.
The investigation revealed that the missing two girls are friends. Both are addicted to social media TikTok. At one stage of using TikTok, they were introduced to a TikTok group in Dhaka. That TikTok group allured them of a colorful life. To achieve that dream, two friends left home and ran away to Dhaka together on April 30. Five days after the incident, a team of district intelligence police conducted raids in Mymensingh and Dhaka and found the temporary residence of the TikTok group. Later, police raided Pallabi area of Dhaka. Meanwhile, the other members of the TikTok team fled leaving 2 young missing girls. Later, the DB police rescued them from there.
Md. Shahidul Islam said, 'If they were not rescued on time, it is believed that the two young women would have been trafficked or forced into sex work in India. Attempts are being made to identify the Dhaka TikTok group involved in this incident.'
